a. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer or mobile device by websites that you visit. They are widely used to make websites work, or work more efficiently, as well as to provide information to the owners of the site.

b. How I Use Cookies:

I use cookies for several purposes:

    •   Analytical/Performance Cookies: These cookies allow me to recognize and count the number of visitors and to see how visitors move around my Site when they are using it (e.g., Google Analytics). This helps me improve the way my Site works.

    •   Functionality Cookies: These cookies are used to recognize you when you return to my Site. This enables me to personalize content for you (though my current site has limited personalization) and remember your preferences. Embedded content, like YouTube videos, may also set functionality cookies.

    •   Targeting/Advertising Cookies (Potential Future Use): As mentioned, I may use Google Ads or Meta Ads in the future. If so, these cookies would record your visit to my Site, the pages you have visited, and the links you have followed. This information would be used to make advertising displayed on other sites more relevant to your interests. These cookies are typically set through Google Tag Manager.

c. Specific Cookies Used:

    •   Google Analytics: I use Google Analytics to understand website traffic. Google Analytics sets cookies to collect data about your visits. You can opt-out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on: `https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout`.

    •   YouTube: My Site embeds a video reel from YouTube. When you play an embedded YouTube video, YouTube may set cookies on your device. These cookies are governed by YouTube’s (Google’s) privacy policy.

    •   Google Tag Manager: GTM itself does not set many cookies directly but is a tool to deploy other tags (like Google Analytics) which do set cookies.

    •   MonsterInsights: This plugin may set cookies to help integrate Google Analytics.

d. Your Choices Regarding Cookies:

Most web browsers allow some control of most cookies through the browser settings. You can set your browser to refuse all or some browser cookies, or to alert you when websites set or access cookies.
